How I built a client portal in Notion (and cut my email volume by 60%)

A step-by-step walkthrough of creating a shared client workspace that reduces back-and-forth and keeps projects organized.

A few months ago, I was drowning in client emails. Status updates, file requests, feedback loops — it was all happening in my inbox, and it was unsustainable. So I built a client portal inside Notion.

The idea was simple: a shared page where the client can see all project milestones, upload files, and leave comments. I created a template with a dashboard for each client, linked databases for tasks and files, and a simple weekly check-in form.

Results? Email volume dropped by 60%. Clients loved having a single source of truth. I now use this portal for every project, and I've packaged it as a template so you can duplicate it in minutes.
