How I stopped losing ideas and started finishing projects

A simple Notion workflow that helped me capture, organize, and ship creative work without overwhelm.

I used to be great at starting things. I had folders full of half-written posts, half-designed logos, half-planned courses. The problem wasn't motivation — it was the lack of a system to move ideas from capture to completion.

Here's the workflow that changed everything: a single Notion database for projects, with views for each stage. Inbox → Next Up → Active → Done. That's it. Every idea lands in Inbox, gets triaged weekly, and only moves to Active when I've committed to a deadline.

The key is ruthlessness in the triage step. If an idea doesn't have a clear outcome and a time estimate, it stays in Inbox. This filter alone cut my project list by 60% and doubled my completion rate. Try it with your next idea and see what happens.
