How to Build a Client Onboarding System in Notion (That Doesn't Suck)

Client onboarding is often a mess of scattered emails, forms, and forgotten attachments. I used to spend the first week of every project just gathering information. That changed when I built a single Notion page that acts as a client portal.
The core is a database with three views: a form (using Notion forms), a project dashboard, and a task list. When a new client signs, they fill out a form that populates a project page. Automations send me a notification and create a welcome task. The client gets a shared link where they can see progress and upload files.
This system cut my onboarding time by 60%. Clients appreciate having one place to find everything. And I no longer have to dig through my inbox for their logo files or brand guidelines.
