How to Build a Content Flywheel with Notion
Stop starting from scratch every week. Here’s a repeatable system that turns one idea into multiple posts.
Most creators treat content like a to-do list: brainstorm, write, post, repeat. But this linear approach burns energy fast. A flywheel works better — each piece of content fuels the next.
Start with a single pillar topic. In Notion, create a database with a template that includes fields for pillar, subtopics, formats, and status. For example, a podcast episode can become a blog post, a Twitter thread, an Instagram carousel, and a newsletter. Link each derivative back to the original.
Set up a weekly review where you move items from “Ideas” to “In Progress” to “Published.” Use a rollup to track total output per pillar. Over time, you’ll see which topics resonate most and double down.
The key is to build the system before you need it. Spend an hour setting up your database and templates. Then let the flywheel spin.
