How to Build a Content Hub in Notion (That You'll Actually Maintain)

A practical guide to creating a content hub in Notion that stays organized and easy to update, with tips on structure, automation, and habit-forming.

If you're a creator, you know the struggle: ideas scattered across your notes app, drafts in Google Docs, and finished pieces in a folder you never look at. A content hub in Notion can solve that, but only if you build it in a way that doesn't become another abandoned system.

Start with three databases: Ideas, In Progress, and Published. Connect them with a relation property so you can move a card from one stage to the next without losing context. Add a status property (Idea, Outlining, Drafting, Editing, Scheduled, Published) and a 'Next Action' property so you always know what to do with each piece.

Don't overcomplicate it. You need to see your pipeline at a glance, not manage a complex CRM. I use a board view for the In Progress database and a calendar view for scheduling. One dashboard shows me what's coming up, what's overdue, and what I need to write next.

The real trick is making it a habit. I set a weekly review every Friday to move cards, clean up dead ideas, and plan the next week. It takes 15 minutes, and it's the reason I've been able to publish consistently for eight months straight. If you can commit to that, your content hub will become your best friend.
