How to Build a Content Idea Bank in Notion (and Never Run Out of Posts)

Stop staring at a blank page. Here's a simple Notion system to capture, organize, and turn content ideas into posts.

We've all been there: you sit down to write a social post or newsletter, and your mind goes blank. The solution isn't more willpower — it's a better system. I use a content idea bank in Notion that has completely eliminated the 'what do I post?' panic.

The core is simple: a database with properties like Status, Platform, and Idea Type. But the magic is in the workflow. Any time I think of something, even half-baked, I add it to the 'Inbox' view. Once a week, I spend 15 minutes reviewing and fleshing out the good ones.

Here's the key that made it stick: I added a 'Next Action' property. Each idea has a tiny next step — like 'write first paragraph' or 'find a photo'. That small shift turned a passive list into an active system. Now I never start from zero.
