Release notes: what changed in the v2 template suite

A quick rundown of the new database relations, the simplified dashboard, and the migration path for existing users.

I shipped v2 of the core template suite this week. The biggest change is structural: every template now shares a single people database and a single projects database. That means you can roll up tasks across clients without duplicating tags or rebuilding relations.

The dashboard got lighter. I removed three widgets that looked good but nobody used, and replaced them with a weekly review checklist that surfaces overdue items and upcoming deadlines in one view. It is less pretty, more useful.

Existing users can migrate without losing data. Open your current template, duplicate the new one, and follow the migration guide in the changelog page. The guide walks you through swapping the old projects database for the new one relation by relation. Plan for about twenty minutes.

One more thing: all templates now support Notion's synced blocks for shared headers and footers. If you manage multiple client workspaces, you can update a header once and have it propagate. That feature alone cut my maintenance time in half.

As always, updates are free for life. Check your email for the fresh duplicate link, or grab it from the downloads page.
